About ICDL
The International Computer Driving License (ICDL) is the world’s leading end-user computer skills certification program offering youth an internationally accredited certification at no cost. The program raises candidates’ level of ICT and computer skills and increases their level of competency in using personal computers and common computer applications. ICDL also improves job prospects by providing an internationally recognized qualification.

ICDL is available in 148 countries and has been translated into 41 languages. It has become a global benchmark adopted by governments, international organizations and the international business community alike.

ICDL has its origin in Europe and is owned and coordinated by the European Computer Driving License Foundation (ECDL-F), a non-profit organization that’s based in Dublin, Ireland. The Foundation was formed to coordinate the introduction and cooperation of the ICDL/ECDL Concept throughout the world through a network of licensees. The ICDL is an international version of ECDL for use outside the EU countries. It is identical to ECDL in terms of syllabus and test content, as well as methods of testing, auditing and accreditation.

What is it?
ICDL is a test of practical skills and competencies which consists of seven separate modules covering computer theory and practice. To achieve an ICDL certification, candidate must successfully pass a test in all seven modules.

ICDL Module 1 is a theoretical test of computing knowledge at a general level and modules 2-7 are practical skills tests, as follows:
Module 1 - Concepts of Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
Module 2 - Using the Computer and Managing Files
Module 3 - Word Processing
Module 4 - Spreadsheets
Module 5 - Using Databases
Module 6 - Presentation
Module 7 - Web Browsing and Communications
